Thomas Forslund Mendez, based at the Västerås office, has also worked at branches in places like Örebro and Enköping.
For service technician Thomas Forslund Mendez, the opportunity to travel and work in different locations has become an important part of his time at CERTEGO. With a background in service and technology, Thomas began his career with us at the Västerås office. Since then, he has worked in various locations across Sweden, from Enköping to Eskilstuna and Västra Frölunda.
Thomas's first assignment took him to Enköping, and since then, he’s worked in several other towns. One memorable experience was when he needed to change a lock cylinder at a gravel pit. "After I’d finished, someone had locked the gate with a padlock. The locksmith got locked in! After an hour, a guy came to rescue me." Although Thomas found himself locked in on this occasion, he says the arrangement is usually perfect when there are smaller jobs to be done back in Västerås.
Working in different locations also means that Thomas frequently collaborates with colleagues from other branches. He emphasises the importance of teamwork to succeed in the job, especially when in unfamiliar places. This sense of camaraderie has strengthened Thomas in his role and given him a deeper understanding of the service industry.
"No matter where you go, there’s always support from your colleagues. Everyone helps each other," says Thomas Forslund Mendez.
He particularly remembers one occasion when a man in Västerås was very grateful for the work he had done. "I was at a customer's house, and he asked if I wanted some water, something to drink, or a piece of fruit. I declined three times, but when I finished, he showed me a fully set table. The table was set with tea, nuts, and sweets. I didn’t have time to stay long, but I took a biscuit and had a quick chat with him", Thomas recalls.
Another colleague who has supported Thomas in his work is technician Anders Elving. "As someone new to the industry, having supportive colleagues around has been invaluable. Anders has helped me enormously, and I’m really grateful for everything I’ve learned from him," says Thomas.
Thanks for all your great work, Thomas!
